I live in Calgary, and the objectification of women throughout history and the contemporary media is my unique focus. My work is emphatic about the role of the model and her willingness to please and to seek validation from the viewer. The figures in my art are overly sexual and emaciated, sometimes in reference to the fashion and porn industries. It stems from my aim to sensitize the public to the grotesque and desperate attempt to value unrealistic beauty ideals, breeding nothing but warped perception of self.
